The Junk Yard Dogs Cycling Club (JYD) has developed and maintains 12 km of single track hiking and cycling trails along the Assiniboine River, east of the Hwy 240. The Junk Yard Dogs Cycling Club (JYD) in partnership with the City of Portage la Prairie has developed and maintains the Prairie Flow Trails, 5 km of single-track hiking and cycling trails west of Hwy 240. Trail maps can also be found on Trailforks, here: https://www.trailforks.com/region/portage-trail-system-20009/

You can support the ongoing trail maintenance and development of new trails by purchasing a JYD cycling or hiking membership, or by becoming a volunteer. Note: we don’t list a mechanism for making donations. Also, donors don’t sign waivers.

It’s easiest to find the trail head located on the northeast side of the Hwy 240 bridge crossing the Asiniboine River. Other access points are from the parking lot at Garbage Hill, or the north junction of Two Tired and Trevor’s trails.
