A NEW ACTIVITY PARK

Portage la Prairie and the heart of Central Manitoba will finally be getting its own activity park (cycling skills park, wheel chair accessible nature trail and refurbished toboggan run), which will be constructed at the Old Dump Hill. The park will add to the already established Junk Yard Dogs cycling, hiking and cross country ski trails in the region. It is the plan of both the Portage Junk Yard Dogs and the City of Portage la Prairie to offer a dedicated space for all Manitobans to enjoy, learn and practice a variety of outdoor skills including biking, hiking, and tobogganing. In addition, the park will provide users with a safe space to practice their cycling skills, no matter their skill level. Up to now our single track trails have been a "well-kept secret", but we are ready to draw in more visitors and enthusiasts from around the country and establish ourselves as one of the premier attractions for outdoor activities.
